The Dream

I have always loved exploring architecture either basing it on existing designs or taking it a step further into something completely different. This painting just started out as forms and shapes but in the end I loved the asymmetrical composition and the openness of the architecture. It is all made-up - the Corinthian columns are based on ones you see in Roman architecture however, I created an individualized relief for it.

The dream followed a piece I did for Annabel Lee (Poe's poem) but I was rushed so quickly through that piece that I went back later to create a more detailed painting in this one.
