Twilight Watch

This is just another one of those pieces where I wanted to explore architecture and creating a composition that worked. I love ruins because there is something mysterious and haunting about these structures.

This painting is entirely made-up though, I created the statues based on a model but made up the orb-like disks that they hold.

There is another painting called Twilight dance where I revisit this same world, I plan on completing one more piece in this series sometime this summer.

Don Muchow used this painting for his July-September issue of Would That it Were online magazine, in 2000. This is a premiere magazine devoted to historical Science Fiction and as far as I am concerned the best magazine online. To see the cover go here:
